ATLAS Mobile Robotics for Precision Agriculture
Latest research efforts developed jointly by the Politecnico of Bari’s Robotic Mobility Lab and CNR’s STIIMA Institute towards the deployment of robotic technologies in agriculture.
A fully functioning farmer robot, named Polibot, was custom-built and tested in a commercial vineyard. The robot features an innovative passive suspension system that ensures high traction and mobility over irregular surfaces, and chassis vibration isolation from terrain unevenness. Polibot features an advanced perception system that provides accurate localization and environment awareness towards full autonomy in precision agriculture applications.
